On November 4, 2016, about 300 people attended the Quest for a Cure gala, including about 60 patients and loved ones visiting Philadelphia for the 2016 Patient and Loved Ones Summit. Attendees enjoyed food, drinks, music, and an incredible view of the Philadelphia skyline from Penn Medicine's brand-new “Jordan Medical Education Center”. Dr. David Fajgenbaum, CDCN Executive Director, gave a TED-style talk and five members of the CDCN were honored with Castleman Warrior of the Year Awards! Together, sponsorships, pre-event donations, and proceeds from the silent auction, live auction, and Genomics study pledge raised over $100,000.
Proceeds from the 2016 Quest for a Cure gala will be used to cover the complete costs to perform genomic sequencing of 100 Castleman disease patients ($115,000). For more details about this and other studies, please visit our research pipeline!
The Quest for a Cure gala attendees were the first to view our new CDCN video, produced by TV One production and 6ABC:
