Eric Haljasmaa is the Research Registry Coordinator for the ACCELERATE Patient Research Study, the first-ever global patient registry and natural history study of Castleman Disease, at the University of Pennsylvania. His responsibilities include requesting and processing medical records and tissue from hospitals. Prior to moving to Philadelphia, Eric graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering, a minor in Chemistry, and a certificate in Conceptual Foundations of Medicine in 2015. He spent his first two years in Philadelphia completing a Master of Science in Medical Science at Drexel University. Eric will be applying to medical school in the next cycle and hopes to matriculate in Fall 2019. He is excited to be working with the CDCN towards a treatment and a cure!
