Sheila Pierson, MS, is the Clinical Data Specialist for the ACCELERATE registry at the University of Pennsylvania. She is responsible for managing the database for ACCELERATE, the first-ever global patient registry and natural history study of Castleman disease. In addition, she will assist in cleaning and analyzing data from other studies conducted by the CDCN. She is passionate about working with data to help advance the CDCN’s mission toward accelerating research for treatment and improved survival for patients with Castleman disease. Prior to joining UPenn and the CDCN, Sheila was a Research Associate at the Columbia University Medical Center, working in pediatric HIV research. She received her MS in Human Nutrition at Columbia University and previously graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS in Biology and a BA in History. In addition, she plans to pursue a MS in Biostatistics.
